The Missouri River Bird Observatory (mrbo.org) is building this website to showcase the sounds of Missouri birds. Submissions are welcomed.
This website will host songs and calls of birds found in Missouri. We hope to facilitate discussion focused around bird song, variants, ID tips and help, and how to capture recordings
Recordings will be hosted on Xeno-Canto, which is an open-source birdsong (and call!) repository. We will encourage visitors who make their own recordings to upload there, as their technology is excellent and open to others to view.
Recordings will be organized by birds, with pages corresponding to their ABA four letter codes. If you are not familiar with the codes, don’t worry! Birds are searchable by keyword (like their common names) and some have already been bundled in to easy-to-find collections!
